Do you want to make a difference in the life of a person seeking to improve their academic skills and reach their personal goals?
The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Schools, in partnership with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, offer Adult Literacy to members of our local community. The subject areas for Adult Literacy include reading, writing, math and technology. We have volunteer tutors to work with individuals and are available at various times to work with your schedule. Hours are arranged to accommodate both the students and the tutors. If you would like to work with a tutor to improve your reading, writing or math skills, please contact the Community School Office at 906-779-2660 ext 1 or e-mail: [email protected].
About our Volunteer Tutors
Our tutors undergo a brief training and orientation session with our Adult Literacy Coordinator. The volunteers complete forms to insure safety and security for all clients. Some of our tutors are former teachers, retirees, and others just wish to help others better themselves. If you would like to become a volunteer tutor, please contact the Community Schools Office at 906-779-2660 ext 1 or e-mail: [email protected].
